History

Hayes Fish Co. was founded in 1877 by Alfred Hayes. In the early 1900's it was purchased by Louis Jaus. Hayes Fish Co. and the Jaus family set a standard of highest quality seafood in WNY. It remains in the Jaus family for a 4th Generation and hopefully will continue for many years to come. Originally located on the corner of Niagara St. and Eagle St. in downtown Buffalo, Hayes Fish Co established a market on Harlem Rd in the 1960's, which eventually closed in 2011. That location gave way to our current location, Hayes Seafood House. The Seafood House has been open since 2005 and still holds the highest standard for fresh, high quality seafood available at the Fresh Seafood Market and the Restaurant.
